At the Sun Inn we proudly sell the following Jennings beers:

Cumberland Ale  4.0% Vol


A superb golden coloured ale, brewed with malt made from specially selected Maris Otter barley and using only the finest English aromatic hops.

Traditionally brewed for over a hundred years, using pure Lakeland water drawn from the brewery's own well.

A full flavoured beer, with a dellicate hop character, making it ideal for the demanding modern beer drinker.Cumberland Ale has become a firm favourite nationwide and is Jennings best selling brand outside the Lake District.



 


 


Jennings Bitter - 3.4% VOL


A distinctively darker bitter brewed with malt made from Maris Otter barley and the careful addition of Amber malt, to give a nutty flavour that supports a subtle blend of English aromatic hops.

A very drinkable strength, with a really moreish taste, making it an ideal session beer for those seeking something distinctive.

Jennings Bitter is the original beer in the Jennings range. It is most popular in the Lake District, Jennings heartland, but it is also appreciated by drinkers in many other parts of the country.


 


Cross Buttock  - 4.5% VOL



 A traditional all malt bitter beer which is rich in colour, brewed with malt made from Maris Otter barley and hopped with English Fuggles and Goldings.


 A well balanced beer with a classic hop character that is both refreshing and satisfying. Launched in September 1998 as a new season's ale. The  name comes from a term which has been used for centuries in Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling to describe a particular type of throw.


 


 


Sneck Lifter 5.1% Alcohol by volume



 


A dark beer with a reddish tinge, derived from the use of coloured malts,  perfectly balanced with specially formulated brewing sugars and English aromatic hops.


 


 


 


 


Cockerhoop 4.6% Alcohol by volume



An award-winning golden bitter from an all malt brew, with Styrian  Golding hops added at various stages, to give a classic hop flavour and aroma.


 


 


 


 


Crag Rat 4.3% Alcohol by volume



 


A refreshing golden coloured bitter, brewed using pale ale malt and two classic varieties of English whole cone hops to give a delicate flavour and aroma.
